“You are Enough.” It’s a common mantra I hear, but today, I do not feel like enough. Is this mantra even true? Failures and short comings drag down my soul. I feel ignored, unheard, and unseen. Will anyone every hear my voice?
You, Oh Lord, hear my whispered cries. You see the depths of my soul. Your power is perfected in my “not enough.” You take all of my failures and short-comings and make me more than enough-You make me your daughter and you sing over me with delight. Let my feelings of inadequacy drive me to the One whose grace is sufficient for me.
In You, there is no condemnation. You free me from the demands of being enough. Your mercies are new every morning and there is no end to your careful love of my tattered soul.
Help me to ignore the lies of the enemy, who tells me your love for me is limited and I must strive harder to make you happy. Help me cling to the truth that you are already pleased with me and you are redeeming my failures and making them into a beautiful story. Set my soul free with the truth of your mercy and grace.
You alone lift me above “enough” until enough no longer matters. I am more than enough in Jesus Christ. He washes away my striving and cleanses me from my inadequacy.
In the light of your great love for me, it doesn’t matter if I am “enough” because You are enough.
"Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."
2 Corinthians 3:5-6
"The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing."
"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
2 Corinthians 12:9
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
