Favorite Things November
Today I am writing a more light-hearted post. I've been meaning to start a monthly "Favorite Things" post to connect with readers and promote the things I love. I hope you enjoy and please comment and let me know what you're up to!
I sometimes find myself discontent with Motherhood and/or feeling like a failure. I want to write more, create more, just get this house organized...if only I didn't spend all day wiping snotty noses, pulling a mischievous toddler off the entertainment console, and answering for the umpteenth time that yes, all of those animals poop and die.
It's hard. But, these two are so worth it. They make my heart explode with love and joy. I love to see the world through their eyes and moments like these just melt my heart. Cupcake is obsessed with her little brother. I call her, "Little Mama." And Bug thinks his sister is the funniest person on earth. My cup overflows.
Saint Adeline's Debute EP
Saint Adeline is a new folk pop band from New York City, comprised of the Gasparini siblings, Drew, Kasie, and Chloe. Do your ears a favor and preview/download this EP!
There is not one song on this EP that I don't love. The melodies are beautiful, the harmonies are perfect, and there's something about their music that reaches into your soul and makes it feel. The best kind of music.
Drew Gasparini, the brother of the band, is also a Broadway composer and I cannot get enough of his music.
I wish I had more time for creating things, but I am currently working on a chore chart for Cupcake. It's taking me forever.
Here are a few of my favorite articles I've read this month:
When Gratitude Feels Unnatural by Heather Enright for Incourage
Weep Together by Jarrod Justice
We Can't Turn Away by Abby Buter
Other People's Creations
I ordered this Advent devotional this year and I LOVE IT!! I can't wait to hang it up. The set includes 31 4.25x5.5 cards with an original art print drawn by the artist. Each card has a daily Bible reading, questions, and prayer on the back.
Things For Which I'm Longing
Like I said, November has been a hard month. I am longing to enjoy the holidays and find some soul rest. I am praying I do not get caught up in the bustle, the "shoulds," or my tendency to have way too high expectations for holidays.
